For painters, writers and musicians, I don’t see gender identity as ever really being a problem. However, for someone who expresses themselves through personal style, gender can be a big issue. For the longest time I struggled with my personal style. I would walk into a department store and go straight to the men section. I did not want to be judge or looked down upon. However, I would always gaze in awe at all the pretty and stylish women’s wear from across the store. This was a very long time ago.
