The #1 source for fashion inspiration from real people around the world.
Hello everyone! I am so excited to present to you all a House of Alexzander best!
A Bit About the Look:
This look is all FEMME, featuring the pink Angora Sweater famously worn by my darling Lana Del Rey in a recent H&M campaign. The moment I saw Lana in this sweater singing "Blue Velvet" on YouTube I had to have it. I searched the internet endlessly because the H&M web-store was SOLD OUT!!! Needless to say I had one other option. I searched every H&M within a 75 mile radius of my home and after 3 different malls... THERE IT WAS. Of course it was a large, but I did not care. I snatched that gem up and made a dash to check out. As usual there was a line so I thought to myself, "Well, I am already here so might as well look around." That's when love happened. I saw the most amazing, neatly folded lace leggings from across the store. I looked at my sweater, then back to the leggings. SHAZAM! Pure fashion romance. Now you don't think I would just thrown on any pair of heels with this outfit do you? Of course not! Thats why I didn't hesitate to slip on my favorite pair of heels. Jeffrey Campbell Black Velvet Litas. IT WAS PERFECT.

Why It's My Dream To Attend NYFW:
I will be turning 21 at the end of September. Since graduating high school I have really been at a loss as to what I want to do for the rest of my life. Cosmetology, music and photography are all things I love and have an interest in, but somehow I keep second guessing any of those options. Finally, one day at work an older lady came to my register to purchase her goods and asked me if I was in school or going through any kind of training. I responded, "Well, what for?" She replied, "Do you want to know a secret?" Fascinated I nodded my head yes. Then she leaned in and whispered, "To find your passion, think about what you are good at. Then find out which one of those things take the least amount of effort. Make that your career and you will never grow tired, never lose interest and always succeed!"
Since that day, her words spun around in my head like a tornado. Eventually it hit me. One morning while getting ready for work I was stumbling around half asleep in my closet. I had been out late the night before so I was a bit drained and sleep deprived. I threw on some clothes and headed out the door. When I get to work, immediately two of my co-workers complimented me on my outfit. I thanked them and just kept about my day. However, all day long I kept receiving compliment after compliment about my shoes, my sweater, my hat or my whole look! So much so that I actually started to LOOK at what I had snatched out of the closet and threw on this morning. Thats when I knew. Fashion and style are my passion. The moment I got home from work, I tear open my closet and start grabbing things. I begin matching this with that and trying things on, imagining certain things in different colors. I even alter a couple of things. All of a sudden my stomach growls like I have never heard it growl. I look at the clock and it's 3:27 A.M. I haven't eaten or showered and I have work again the next morning. I know, that fashion and style will be (and are) my life.
After lots of thinking I have discovered so much about my own personal style and how it relates to my character. As a gender fluid individual naturally I am inspired by men and women's wear. I decided to let my guards down and began expressing the idea of mixing male and female fashions. When I did this, it was heaven. I gained self confidence that I never had before. I began to love myself for what and who I was becoming. For the first time ever, I felt truly inspired. Joining Lookbook has been amazing. All of the users are so friendly and encourage my fresh and unusual style sense. Normally guys in high heels and make up get laughed at and bullied. Being a part of lookbook is helping me grow even more into an amazing individual. Getting the chance to witness NYFW would be an amazing experience. However, going to NYFW with the creators and friends from lookbook... for me that woudl be like going with family. I am just a small town boy from America's backwoods with NYFW dreams. I have never even seen the beach more or less a huge city full of culture and life! If I was chosen for such an experience, well, it would be the best experience of my life.
