I remember my 8th grade year, that if you shopped at the thrift store it was like taboo O_o
" ew used clothing " , " who knows what dirty person wore that "
and many more ignorant comments that came along with shopping at the thrift store,
& yes people actually said this to me .....
And for those who don't know me I'm only 18, so my 8th grade year many people were
not up to par in terms of shopping in the thrift store and how fucking great it is .
( excuse my potty mouth )
Now all the sudden the same exact people who used to say stupid things like that,
eat, breath, and dream thrift store. And not to mention the mainstream anthem for thrift shops.
That annoying " thrift shop " song by Malcklemore or how ever you spell his name.
For all the style savvy people, we know that if we are able to find a unique find, we are all the sudden entitled to some sort of status just because the shirt you wore was a trend in the 80's. This isn't always true of course, but most of the time it is. That is why we turn to magic of thrifting .
I got my shirt at the Beacon Closet, a high end thrift store !
( not luxury ) but high end for a thrift store ;P
So expect to find brands like : Zara, T.U.K Creepers, Levi's & many more !
You may be wondering, how does this store carry these brands ?
Well you are able to trade your clothes for store credit or actual cash.
it is located on 13th & 5th ave in Downtown Manhattan, so expect nice things !
If your lucky ;)
Now my shoes , are the new JC PLAY platforms , they are superrrr comfortable !
So I recommend a pair .
