The Fresh Princess of Orange County

September 28, 2013 · 1

It's apparent that my style doesn't belong to the elegant streets or standards of Orange County. People often mistake being different as a negative thing, but I believe it builds intrigue. This look is by no means reflective of where I am but where I'm from and better yet, where I'm headed.

I'm a #90s baby from New York, so it comes as no surprise that one of my favorite style influencers and TV Show's growing up was #willsmith in #thefreshprinceofbelair. This #retro shoot capitalizes on some of my style icons #mchammer #willsmith and #jazzyjeff, all of which are men, which just goes to show I'm a true #feminine #tomboy with a #funky #urban edge. I like being #bold by mix matching prints (some would refer this as "clashing") and recycling the styles of the past, for "fashion comes and goes but style remains." If this statement is true, you can absolutely wear whatever the hell you want if you know how to pull it off correctly and effortlessly. So i'll leave you with this bit of Wu-tang Wisdom:

Emulate your predecssors but never ever imitate, because- "You can be whoever you want, even yourself"
