During the fall season, it’s so easy to be lazy and simply rely on your favorite jeans and layer heavy sweaters, leather jackets or faux fur. As much as I love jeans and sporting a casual look, I think it’s also fun to try other styles during this season like sweater dresses, short velvet skirts and above the knee boots. Sweater dresses transition perfectly from day to night as they can be dressed down with little ankle booties and a wide rimmed hat or dressed up with heels and a stand out clutch or statement piece of jewelry.
I instantly fell in love with this Christopher Fischer dress when I stumbled across it at Buffalo Exchange last week. I love the beige sweater and how it’s design is super innovative and sexy with the sheer deep green fabric that falls to my ankles and the subtle slit that allows for the dress to show off my favorite snakeskin B Brian Atwood pumps. How great are these heels!?!? You can never go wrong with Brian Atwood but I felt these particular strappy heels were so unique and happened to match perfectly with this dress.
LA Fashion Week has been great so far! I loved previewing the holiday collection for Express with my fellow fashion bloggers last night at an intimate party in the hills. It was a night filled with sequins, tarot card readers, cookie decorating, glitter and statement jewelry-what more could I ask for!? After, I headed to the Thompson Hotel for Anthony Franco’s “Flor de Agua” SS14 runway show, which was incredible and proved that wearing white after labor day is not only “allowed,” but exceptionally stylish! Major thanks to Daniel Betancourt for a night to remember!
Happy Thursday everyone! Will be posting photos of what I wore last night later today so stay tuned and until next time…
