I talk a lot about pastry on my blog, and not a lot about fitness. But the reality is, of course, that I couldn't eat the way I do if I didn't exercise regularly! I was a competitive gymnast growing up, and also took dance classes with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet until I was nineteen, so I can honestly say that there have been very few times in my life when I haven't been active. But since leaving dance behind, I've struggled to find my sport. I did aerobics for a while, but all of the jumping up and down off blocks made me feel ridiculous. After that I tried boxing, but it didn't really stick. And then I ran for a few years, at times more regularly and at times less, but I found it very hard on my body - especially since I have chronic knee and foot injuries {thank-you, gymnastics.} I tried yoga, on and off, through those years but there was always something that put me off - the teachers, the humid classrooms, the lack of physical challenge... and then, just after we moved to Paris, I discovered Tara Stiles. She didn't change my life, but she definitely changed my outlook on yoga as a form of exercise. I practise five mornings a week, either in my living room or at the park down the street on sunny days. And since one of the best parts of exercising is having cute workout clothes, I was pretty excited with O'Neill sent over some pieces from their 365 Hybrids collection - they've proven to be the perfection addition to my {surprisingly colourful!} yoga wardrobe.
