Caesarea is a town in Israel located mid-way between Tel Aviv and Haifa .The town was built by Herod the Great about 25–13 BCE as the port city Caesarea Maritima. It served as an administrative center of Judaea Province of the Roman Empire, and later the capital of the Byzantine Palaestina Prima province during the classic period.
One of the few sites thats been spared from devastation and attack, the amphitheater of Caesarea is a beautifully designed structure that echoes Roman architecture. The site is built along the coastline which gives an amazing view of the Mediterranean Sea. Impressive. If only the other sturcutres survived but unfortunately due to wars and earthquakes what remains are a few structures like the Amphitheater.
