The #1 source for fashion inspiration from real people around the world.
I went to premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug yesterday. It's no secret that I am a great fan of both the books and the movies ♥ I absolutely love the elves especially and I find great inspiration from that world.
So.. I have been working on a dress for a few weeks. I decided to create an elven dress because I could not find a dress online in the colour, shape and fabric I had envisioned. I found a nice fabric - though I really had prefered some type of silk velvet for the dress, I am happy with it nevertheless. I ended up changing the pattern slightly, removing the lacing on the back and I added beaded embroidery around both arms and the neck. The embroidery took me a long time to embroider, but I really enjoyed it.
On the picture above you can see my beautiful cloak! I did not sew it myself. I bought it online from a vintage shop some months ago. Apparently the lady I bought it from had found it in a village somewhere in the mountains in the US. I just adore it and I am so happy I found an occasion to wear it.
