wow the coat is absolutely adorable ! love it so much!
Alicatstrut S
Thanks so much. Gotta love a perfect vintage piece. :)
Selina M
Utterly fabulous! You look so regal
Alicatstrut S
Thanks so much! Now I just need some subjects. ;) (Though, in reality, I think it would be better if we were all subject to each other. The view from the top is a little lonely.)
Selina M
Sometimes a ruler must be aloof, what can you do? :P
Alicatstrut S
Dash into the town square and start hugging my people, for starters.
Selina M
If you wish. I would prefer to monopolise a cake shop first
Alicatstrut S
You're the monarch - you can "mon-" anything you want!
Selina M
This means I can nomnomnom anything I want :P
Alicatstrut S
It's true. Especially on Reverse Day. Which I think we'll all agree we can declare any time we like.
Selina M
Everyday should be reverse day
Alicatstrut S
Very well. I am starting my day with cake and ice cream. (Not lying.)
Selina M
Excellent. I've just finished lunch. With plum crumble for afters. I never lie about food

Yes I really do! We usually go hike in the mountains with a sledge! I have no problems with cold or rough weather -> not a weather sissy, it gets annoying when people complain so much about winter. Its not like summer will never return ;)
Alicatstrut S
Haha, agreed! (I'm a complainer in the summer, though. I'm allergic to the sun and everyone always wants to do everything outdoors.)

Sledding in the mountains sounds amazing - and like something your kids probably love, too.
☽Emī Silberīn Mānelieht☾
Currently only one kid, but yes he loves it and I hope we will get snow still so we can go back. Last year he was still a bit small, it will be more fun this year.
I like summer too but it can be so limited when it comes to clothing choices...I really loves jackets, scarfs and boots. I am not a beach bum type of person though or interested in laying out in the sun :P
Alicatstrut S
So true. So how did you come to have friends in NY? Did you spend time in the States?
☽Emī Silberīn Mānelieht☾
Yes, I lived in NY (Deer Park, LI) from 07' to late 2010 and worked in the city, after that I spent a year in CA and now I'm back in Germany. :)
Alicatstrut S
Wow, my husband grew up in Dix Hills and I work all over the Island so I know Deer Park well. :)
☽Emī Silberīn Mānelieht☾
Dix Hills is nice! I lived further out in Ridge too before Deer Park but the commute to work was just so long! I knew a guy traveling from Montauk to the city every day! Crazy!
Alicatstrut S
Side note: Your new photo is adorable.

Montauk to the city every day is, indeed, crazy, unless you're one of the helicopter people. I used to live in Brooklyn and commute to the Island for work - that was surprisingly hellish, too. Now I live in Nassau (around the corner from Roosevelt Field Mall).
☽Emī Silberīn Mānelieht☾
That is certainly the more "lively" part of the island to be on ;). May I add that the bus and train system in Long Island seem "spartanic" to me? In Germany even in small towns there is a very busy bus system and trains run everywhere too, much like NYC...but not Long Island haha. I did not have a car at first, what a struggle.
And thanks the picture is from our snowy hike last year :)
Alicatstrut S
Yeah, even with the railroad you absolutely need a car to get around here. I once spent three hours trying to get 20 minutes away when my parked car was hit by a drunk driver. It's better than more rural parts of the US, though!
☽Emī Silberīn Mānelieht☾
I had to take the cab to get around quite a few times! But I know, it must be insane in some parts of the US! I know a few people there too.

lovely! that cape is so dramatic and nostalgic!
Alicatstrut S
Thanks, Christine! It really does lay just so, doesn't it? I feel like an old school film star when I wear it.
