I love the sultry and vavavoom of a red dress, but I find the color too striking sometimes, which is why I hardly ever wear red in its boldest form. As an alternative, I meddle in darker shades like berry, oxblood or burgundy, which are more or less paternal siblings in the gene pool.
I find that red and its constituents work best at night. Sure, a little black dress will always be your classic go-to, but trading black for berry won’t disappoint! You’ll stand out amidst a crowd of black suits and cocktail dresses, without being too eye-catching as if you had worn bright yellow to the party.
This berry lace dress was not actually meant to be an empire cut, I had just pulled it up and tucked in the excess material as the ribbon around the waist could not affix over my growing belly. This just goes to show that you do not need to buy maternity specific clothing to make your current wardrobe fit, you just have to be resourceful.
