We change every single day. I feel like the same person I was five years ago when I came to Vancouver; the same person I was when I packed my bags for Paris but looking through old photo albums last week, the story I saw play out in the images in front of me was a very different one. It's so easy to focus on one day at a time and miss the bigger picture of the way our experiences shape us. Four months ago, I published a book - and it's only just hitting me now that this is the realisation of what can only be called a life long dream. With that realisation is, slowly, coming a shifting of my priorities. I'm beginning to see more and more clearly with each passing day that I am a writer who loves fashion, not a fashionista who happens to have a written a novel. What that means, exactly, I don't know. It's probably only in the clearly focused lens of hindsight that I'll be able to say for sure what all of this has meant to who I am. In the meantime, I'm just living in the blur.
