Rodarte inspired

Xtina The great - American Apparel Circle Scarf, Evans Knit Tunic/Dress, Evans Bodycon Mini Skirt, Torrid Black Tights, Pleaser Boots - Rodarte inspired

Some people fear that oversize clothing will make them appear larger than they really are. I honestly couldn’t care less. I think its more important to achieve an amazing look. Whether an outfit makes you look rectangular, oblong, rotund or whatever isn’t as relevant as many seem to think. Its not always about looking ‘put together’ or wearing things that are ‘flattering’, the ideas that are showcased in an outfit, whether good or bad in execution, are always more interesting. Always.

This is what I wore today to run errands and stand in the rain at the bus stop. I was sent this loose knit tunic/top/dress from Evans and it has a Rodarte-like quality that I can appreciate. I again got it several sizes larger than my normal size to get the hang that I prefer. I paired it with my black bodycon mini, also from Evans. Lately, I’ve been into the proportions of a super loose top and a bodycon bottom. There’s something interesting in the way that it translates on a plus size body. These 6 inch boots from Pleaser make any outfit that much more …interesting? They sometimes garner weird looks but you’d be surprised how many people ask me where I got them from. Like the Jeffrey Campbell Clinics, they are quite comfy despite how they look.

i love what you said here about not worrying about being "flattering" but achieving an amazing look. i think that should be the goal of fashion, no matter what your size. this is a beautiful photograph of an even more beautiful woman!
