The #1 source for fashion inspiration from real people around the world.
I think that the post I wrote on Monday might have created some... undue excitement with my last post. Don't get me wrong, I am really happy to be starting my new job next week. But, just to be clear, despite what my wardrobe might suggest, I'm not about to make the transition to a Carrie Bradshaw-esque life of full-time work in the fashion industry. Nor, to be totally honest, would I want to. That may sound surprising since I love fashion so much. But I learned the hard way when I chose to pursue a degree in creative writing at university that whatever I choose as my career will eventually come to feel like work, no matter how profound my passion for it. I love fashion and I want to keep loving it. So my new job? It's still in the insurance industry. But I'm moving into a new area that will present new challenges and I hope, ultimately, allow me to accomplish a lot more of my career goals. Oh, and keep my closet full of beautiful clothes, too, naturally!
