Photo taken after a magazine shoot, which is why my makeup is super colorful. I don’t really apply full-blown eye make-up on regular days, it’s just too much for me. :o
Anyway, I just got back from Singapore last week, which is where I got the fringe top and high-waisted shorts I have on. Our flight back to Manila was hell, it was turbulent all the way. I wanted so much to cry. I mean I loooooooove traveling but plane rides, I hate. I remember my worst plane ride ever. It was when my friends and I were returning to Paris from Prague. Our flight got delayed for more than an hour. When we finally got to the plane, lo and behold, turbulence all the way! Add to that, the really clever pilot decided that it would be best to let us know that there’s no need to panic, we are just experiencing turbulence because “WE ARE TRAPPED IN A VORTEX.†Yup! Sugarcoating must not be in his vocabulary. (To our dearest pilot: Okay, great! Thanks for letting us know!) Whatever he said after that was all a blur to me. The whole 1 hour and 30 minutes of our flight was turbulent. Imagine how scared I was! We were JUST trapped in a vortex. I must’ve prayed a million times and called all the angels and saints in heaven to save my dear life. Ugh. Stupid pilot. I even hugged my seatmate the whole way back. It was my way of coping. I usually hang on to my mom’s arm whenever plane rides become turbulent. But since my mom wasn’t around, my friend was the next best thing.
Don't get me wrong though. Even if I get scared so easily in times of flight turbulence, that doesn’t stop me from traveling. Next week, I’m off to Hong Kong! Every year, my family and I go to HK at least 3 to 4 times a year to satisfy our shopping and dining cravings. Can’t wait! It’s so funny how I know my way around Hong Kong better than here in Manila! Too bad that because of this trip, I won’t be able to join Meg magazine’s top 10 most stylish shoot. Sucky. Just my luck. This ALWAYS happens to me by the way. Last time, I missed out on a Samsung shoot because I was in Japan (I later learned that the stylist for the shoot was Pam Quinones, which made me feel even worse!). Why do good things happen when I’m not available? Oh well, at least my sister gets to go to the shoot! I’m so excited for her. She’s not really used to being in front of the camera. She’s comfortable behind the camera, low key and all. But still, I know she can do it! I’ll be cheering her on 600 something miles away! It’s my turn to be the stage sister haha Plus, I recently learned that I’ll be part of a certain top ten list that I never thought I’d be part of everrrrrrrrrr! I feel so blessed. God is good. Good things come to good people, don’t you think? ☺
