I'm just curious as to what other people think about wearing leggings as a substitution for pants (i.e. a regular t-shirt with leggings). I've always been on the fence about it because I find myself thinking it looks okay on some people, but other times thinking, "oh dear! Why isn't that person wearing pants?!"

Does it depend on your body type? Occasion? Type of legging? Or is it just me?

..And what about those jeggings?!

I find it depends on the thickness of leggings actually. DO NOT wear them as pants if people can make out your butt crack or if there's camel toe--that's gauche and gross. Wear them with a longer-length top if they are like that.

As long as it's with a long top, then it's fine imo :)

I think it really depends on the type of leggings! Thicker ones can look fine with regular length tops (besides from most black ones- they nearly always seem to be a bit see through) but thinner ones look fine with long tops

of course leggings are great as pants, as long as they're not cheap and see through. also ladies, for the love of god where seamless thongs when you wear leggings- pant line look with full briefs is not good!!

Personally, I wouldn't wear leggings as pants even if the shirt covers my bum. I'm not sure why but I see it as a bit too casual and sloppy for my taste. I'm fine with other people wearing leggings, but as long as a shirt covers their bums and camel toes then I wouldn't be bitching about it.

It depends on body type and type of leggings. But it cant substitute jeans because its look is very different from leggings. No doubt leggings are way sexier than jeans.

there's no point saying 'no doubt' as if it's the truth, it's only your opinion. i find jeans to be much sexier. leggings look too much like pyjamas or long johns to ever be sexy for me but that's up to my personal taste

Offcourse Selina that is my point of view. I respect everyone's view on this.It can be different for different people. I think question demands personalized answers only what everyone thinks, that is why I jut gave my opinion.

depends...those black basic leggins definitely not. but when they are from thick material and different color and you wear a long shirt, it can be okay. what is also very important is how well you combine it :D

Not bad for lounging around the house, but in the public eye, not cool! Wearing leggings as jeans can be revealing. I once dated a girl that wore them one day while out, and didn't even realize her underwear was showing. If you're going to wear them as jeans, make sure you do a spot check to see if you aren't revealing too much.

I've ran in leggings, but nothing more. Best believe I'm not hanging out in one area when I do wear them. Too revealing for us males

As far I know, leggings are far comfortable than pants. I am in clothing business for last 5-6 years. and believe me affection for good quality leggings are increasing day by day and so and reducing for pants day by day.. It mainly because their lightness and comfort and also the color choices and yes easy to clean and dry process.

We are selling this product from long ago and demand is increasing day by day. Well you can check them here with discounts - https://www.alanic.com/online/women-clothing/leggings/

As for me, I can't wear leggings or jeggings on public instead of pants. It's not only completely sportish for me but also too revealing and unappropriate most of the time. I'm not judging as I know perfectly well how comfortable they are but I've never seen serious, successful women wearing leggings.

It really depends on how they are worn. If a shirt, shorts etc is long enough to cover the front and rear, then there isnt any issue.

It depends on what kind of leggings they are and the thickness of the material and the person wearing them (body type)! If the fabric is thin and looks almost see-thru when it stretches, then no, it's not okay to wear them as pants! But if the fabric is thick enough(I.E. thick spandex, metallic, latex, leather-look), then I'd say it's okay and people should rock the leggings as pants look!

I say go for it. As long as you're not showing off your private business or anything, I think it can be cute. Thick fabric for the leggings and a long top.
