Hey all! Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion of which camera I should get for shooting fashion pictures. I was thinking of a camera that allows me to use a wireless remote so I can focus away from my camera. Any suggestions would help.

What are you currently using? I'm assuming not the Minolta film body shown in your profile pic. If you need compatibility with that camera, I'd look into one of the Sony alpha mirrorless bodies. Some do have an adapter available that allows usage of Minolta MD mount lenses. They'll also have a wireless remote release.

I do know that lower end Nikon digital bodies can use a wireless remote, so if you're currently shooting with a Nikon DSLR, find a D3300, 5300, etc, and pick up the compatible remote for it. Canon, I'd assume the same with their lower end cameras. The higher end bodies typically use a corded remote.

@Leah K.

Since you already have the T3, get the T5i. It's going to be the most familiar to you, and will give pretty much the same results, except for the higher resolution, that you're used to. Supposedly, there is a wireless dongle that plugs into the remote terminal, allowing use of the Canon RC-6 or the earlier RC-1 remotes with the T3. So, that might be another option.

*edit* looks like the dongle comes with its own remote... $30 through Amazon...

I use the NIKON D700. This is one of the most popular cameras. But lenses are more important. And it depends on what you want to shoot. I use Nikon 45mm f/2.8 PC-E for travel, portraits. And you have to can all opportunity of your camera.

If you’re ready to be serious about taking fashion photos, the Nikon D3X ($6,999) is considered one of the best 35mm format DSLR out there, and may be the right choice for you. It shoots with remarkably low noise levels for crisp and clear photos every time. The camera is especially great for intricate clothing and the images will remain clear even when blown up. With some of the best fashion and art photographers using this camera, you’ll be in good company as a Nikon D3 owner.
