THE FAIL BOAT,
First visit to lookbook:*___________________________________* "envy envy envy loveeeee-- WHAT YOU CAN ONLY GIVE ONE HEART?!"...pretty much still that way, haha.
" Oh shit, there's a girl from my school on here!"And then began my stalking. Finally got invited after snooping around for 6 months. And now it's bland.

damn i'm so ugly.
"Wow some of these people are so fashionable", I got inspiration from the site for ages before I got invitedHowever, some people seem to be keeping up some sort of indie and "I'm so deep" image, but its nowhere near as bad as the people I see on facebook!!
I agree with this, I feel too old to be here and I'm really not that old!
first it was"Wow, there are so many great looks on here! let me save them to my desktop so I can always have inspiration!"What lookbook makes me think now"I am a fat cow"

then: 'how are these people so stylish? and i bet they're younger than me'now: 'too many people and not enough style'

THE HIP SCHANZE,
I wondered if the majority of people I saw were actually doing something else in the world than obsessing over lifestyle and looks

now I think "well it's just fashion"
now i can't believe they are getting younger. i was never style inclined at the age of 15

first impression : "This site seems perfect for me to express my style!"Now I'm just disillusioned. That's not how things work idiot, your looks don't even get seen by anyone and god knows how long it'll take for them to be seen, LOL. *leaning towards giving up on the site*

When I started I thought I could totally do this and was SO disappointed when my first look got literally 0 hypes. The second one got 2. It does get better though :D It has actually become easier for newbies than it was a couple of years ago. So don't give up!This thread is a little older but still very helpful for getting started: http://lookbook.nu/topic/64274-How-to-become-successful-in-lookbook-Strategies

I remember visiting the site for fashion inspirations and now i have been invited to the site, i focus more on my own style

At first, I thought it was all about high fashion. I saw some really immaculate styles on the front page and I thought I'd just end up a gawker--kind of on the outside looking in. Now, I feel like I'm a part of a rich community. I still can't believe how incredibly warm and supportive everyone is on the site. I feel totally welcome and accepted. This is a place for everyone. I've also come to realize that it's home to people of varied economic backgrounds and aesthetic points of view. It's not just about showing off expensive designer brands. I've seen some incredible handmade designs, thrifted ensembles, outfits full of artistic expression and avant garde deliciousness. I'm continually inspired and amazed by the ingenuity of people here. So grateful to be a part of this community.
