I think it comes down to having the opportunity to diversify one's wardrobe. Women have so much more (and at cheaper prices, I might add) choices to have different looks. For example, take a nice sweater, some dressy shorts and wear boots/hard bottom shoes....now take that same sweater & short combo add some tights and put on some heels and there is an entirely different look with the same ensemble. It essentially just doubled your choices. On one hand it looks rugged while on the other it's sleek with nicer lines. I believe men are opting to go for a "cute" look sometimes vice the sole rugged/sloppy look that men's style has become. Women's shoes in general produce a narrowing effect and with the added heel height can go a step further with slimming of the legs.
Personally, I love wedges because they seem to be a good in-between medium.

I really think that in this new day and age the population is more open to differences in style and innovations. And for the guys wanting to do this- just make sure you get the perfect size and practice walking in 'em! Nothing hurts like smushed toes and twisted ankles! (:

I think anyone can wear whatever they want. Its not about gender, its about expression and personality. Why does that need people to say if its okay or not? Of course self expression and individuality is okay. Just not to everyone, clearly.

I'm not opposed to the concept, but I have yet to see someone makes heels on men not look too feminine or too clunky.

Bless Rick Owens, he keeps trying to makes heels and skirts for men happen. Sorry Rick, but we're a long way from that yet.

Anyone can wear whatever they want, I have no problem with that. but that doesn't mean it looks good.

girls hate it when guys say we cant do something just because were girls. aren't we doing the same thing if we say they can't wear heels?
me being short i would hate guys to be even taller than they already are but i think it would be cool for a guy to wear heels :)

Well, men can wear whatever they want but that won't stop me from giving them weird looks or giggling behind their back if they wear heels. And it's not just men in heels that I would react to this way, there are many other trends (like velvet tracksuits, ew) that would cause the same reaction. We all have things that we don't like but we can't stop people from wearing them!
