yes your right, therefor it isnt a movement if i am correct? i do see what you mean, it made no political headway and they didnt neciserally get what they set out to achieve but they did gain something that they wanted - to be noticed as a recognisably rebellious and different group of people which i think set of all the individuality within design and streetwear which we have today

i understand what you mean when you talk about the rebellion being futile in political terms as they challanged somewhat nothing and everything if you get what i mean? however, they did not go about theyre political rebellion well at all
however, i do not agree with you when you talk about the whole movement as futile and submissive and as though it was brushed over as it made an astonishing impact on the whole fashion scene and still does in terms of haute couture/street style and designers collections today! despite it being a breif fashion, it has managed to wind its way through fashion for years and i think it will carry on doing so
unlike many fashion eras and tendancies that peep theyre heads in every now again
