I am the host and producer of a radio show called Braille Radio on CJAM 91.5fm Windsor/Detroit.
When I started at CJAM I took over Tuesday nights starting at 10pm. With no direction or mandate to guide me I carved a little niche for myself and like-minded listeners. I hope to do this forever.
If you are from North America you know that commercial radio has no room for anything truly interesting or cutting edge. CJAM is a non-commercial radio station committed to bringing not only underground music to the masses but also provides a platform for those groups under represented by mainstream media. FYI, we are the best radio station in CANADA.
Anyways, along with programming and hosting a show I've been thrown into music journalism, which seems like a good fit. I've had the opportunity to meet, connect with and support some amazing artists and in return I've learned a lot about music and production and of course living so close to Detroit I've learned allot about electronic music.
Now you can find me around town playing out my sets in clubs and true Detroit style Raves with friends under the guise of SubMentaL, or simply Angela Desjardins.
I love Dubstep and how artists have expanded on a genre most industry people thought had no potential for growth. My sets are not always Dubstep. I mix everything or anything I like and works. But always something with a good bassline.
