i come from Indonesia, and 'malin kundang' is a folklore from wes sumatra island,

here's a short story : ^_^

once upon a time there was a poor-but-good young man named 'Malin Kundang', he was so close with his mother. in order to try to make a better living in town for his family's sake, he decided to leave the village and work in the big town. and after he marry a rich town girl and became a super rich man, he came back to the village. his mother was VERY happy to welcome her son back home, but he's not the same person as he used to be. malin desgrace and despise his mother, admitting that he doesnt come from such a filthy village and doesnt have such a pathetic and poor mother. so the mother was excruciatingly hurt, she was angry like crazy, she scream and cried in the rain, then she cursed Malin to turned into a stone, and God approved her plea-in-pain, so the heartless Malin has turned into stone at the shore. there is still that stone in the west sumatra, even though the shape is not 'man-shaped' anymore, but the local people still call it 'malin kundang stone'...finished ^___^
