I totally believe teenagers can be in love! The problem is just that a lot of people use it so casually and in such a shallow way that it makes everyone think that all teenagers are that dumb about it, plus at this age we're growing and changing a lot so it's hard to find someone when you're trying to find yourself still. But I've been with the same guy for three years and we've both changed a lot but we're still in love and it's great and better than ever, you just need to be mature and find someone that you can grow with. But I don't think teenagers should make that their number one goal. My twelve year old cousin was ranting that she needs a boyfriend because she's sick of being single and egad, you're in like what, sixth grade? Just wait til you find someone, don't date just to date.

i think teenagers can definitely be in love, but only if you love the person no matter who they are, what they do, how they act, how they look, etc... But if teenagers force themselves to be in love, then it's obviously not genuine. Also, if two people break up and one of them honestly moves on super fast or doesn't feel any remorse, then the two people weren't in love.

In the end, it all depends on the people. I have a person in my life who claims to be in love with their partner when they go around calling other girls pretty, and wanting to walk them home from school and hang out with them on the weekend. He says he's soooo in love with his girl but obviously he isn't if he's willing to spend a majority of time with other girls. Sorry i kind of turned this into a rant, but it was on my mind.

OMG I ONLY READ THE FIRST PARAGRAPH....Which was more than enough I feel I should add.
True love is subjective and can conquer all. People should not judge unless there are obvious signs of disingenuousness and dishonesty!
That is a very immature view from a person with some form of emotional indentations, as a result of previous hardship. Labelling teenagers as dumb is probably a form of consolation and compensation for these misfortunes. People who make those sorts of accusations lack sensitivity. Of course u can be in love as a teenager!!!!!!!! God- we are old enough to think for ourselves but adults place so many burdens on us- then they wonder y we get so pissed off and rebel. No one has the right to mitigate the love between two people that is very personal!

That's totally ridiculous, of course you can be properly in love as a teenager. Just because the vast majority throw it about, doesn't mean we're all so immature. It doesn't happen too often admittedly, but it's possible to find love in your teens.

A lot of so called 'adults' don't have a clue about love either, it just happens when it happens.

I feel I truly love someone, it's not like butterflies and all that crap, but it's this feeling of just knowing them inside out, and I don't know what I'd do without them

I hate cynics, I hate people that critisize love. Love is anything you want it to be, remember opinions aren't facts..if you think you're in love in that moment, you probably are..

Also the whole love and lust thing? What's love without lust anyway, in a relationship that is.

honestly, i know some adults [like my parents] who still don't know what love means. i think the true meaning of love is just that you love the good and the bad about the other person without doubt and without trying to change them. with that definition in my head, maybe people don't think teenagers are capable of loving someone because the teenage years are notorious for feeling awkward & insecure & finding where you belong in the world. however there are always exceptions and sometimes 2 people can help each other to accept themselves. i think it depends on the couple.

When I was 15 I had my first boyfriend who I was convinced I was in love with, even after we broke up, and it took me ages to get over him, like 2 years or something haha. Now I look back and think how stupid I was, I couldn't have known then if I was in love or not, plus we were only together 2 months!!
True, I was a teenager still when I met my current boyfriend who I know I am in love with, I was 17, but I'm now 20 and we've been together nearly 3 years with no problems, and been living together since September. Maybe it's different because he's a bit older, he's 23, and I feel so much older than I am!! I'm at uni but I really don't like going out drinking etc, I got over all that when I was about 17/18, and I'm pretty much a granny.
I think it depends on who you are, some people feel restricted by relationships and therefore can't be 'in love'. I grew up quickly at about 17 I think, before that I was so immature and thought I was in love blah blah blah, now I know what's love because it doesn't feel the same as that obsession.

Love is great, but the younger you are where you fall in love, the more likely that love will eventually burn out. But then again iv never been in love so what would i know.

Well, believe it or not, there are TONS of non-atheletic things you can letter in in High School. I myself lettered in Band and Theatre before I decided to do Cheerleading again. (i had done it before highschool, as well as several years of gymnstiques).
So when I lettered in cheer I just got the sailor-collar added and it looks like a cheer jacket (Hiding the fact that I'm really a nerd very well!).
I haven't worn it for a look yet, but I've been thinking about it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way letter jackets look on people, they really fail to look bad on anyone :)
And I think it's a fun trend. People searching for old letter jackets or pulling old ones out of storage,
Famous designers coming up with their own version of the letter jacket... :)
