You have a good point. Women wearing pants at 1 time was probably considered very sinful, and probably even considered to be cross-dressing. These days, however, many/most modern pant styles are so distinctly feminine, that that those styles are indisputably women's styles. In other words, if a man wore those pants [e.g. yoga pants], then many traditional onlookers would consider the men to be cross-dressing.
