I am a freelance photographer from Manchester, UK. I work from Chicago, New York, Texas, Miami & California.
This is pretty much my life in a too many words.
Basically I like taking photos ;)
In 2009, after visiting New York Many times, Matthew finally ventured on his dream trip. He drove over 11,000 miles from California to New York, stopping in small towns and cities along the way. This produced a huge body of work entitled "On The Road" which will consist of over 20 exhibitions and a book. Which also means there will be more visits to the states.
The first exhibition from 'On The Road' showed in Urban Outfitters entitled, 'Neon America'.
The next exhibition also showed in Urban Outfitters in January entitled 'Rooftops & Water Towers' taking you on a journey through the rooftops of Brooklyn & Manhattan.
I was then awarded in 2010 with the role of the Official Route 66 & Chicago Ambassador where I got to work with some incredible people.
Despite all my achievements & press acknowledgments, I feel I am a long long way from the photographer I want to become but I am having an amazing time trying to get there.
I started taking photographs at rock shows in the early 2000's as a hobby until my dad saw I had an eye for it and bought me a new camera. I started getting very well known under the guise of "Mayhem". Having the privilege of photographing the likes of N*e*r*d and The Streets.
Working for L'Oreal and Redken for three years from 2005 introduced me to the world of fashion. After meeting ex-girlfriend, Annabelle in 2007, she inspired me to achieve my ambitions. Which led to taking photographs for the covers of many magazines, shooting the clothes of designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry and Galliano, and had also built great working relationships with some major brands including one of his personal favourites, Diesel.
