Art & Music

Who are you?

I am Martin Jensen, I’m a DJ, a producer – basically doing what I love everyday!

Why and how did you get into the music industry?

It happened really quickly, only two years ago I was living in a small town in Jutland, Denmark and I decided to run a mobile DJ scene for a few years because I just wanted to entertain people. And now I am playing these huge festival stages – it’s still kind of unreal, but I am loving every minute.

What or who were your early passions and influences?

I had so many influences, it’s almost impossible to name them all – it was always just anyone I saw with a real passion to entertain others; that’s what inspires me most.

Can you tell us one memorable story that you'll never forget that happened so far in your music career?

I would have to say Smukfest in Denmark - it was kind of like a homecoming, 25,000 people going nuts! It was a blast.

How is life on the road? What are the ups and downs?

Eat, sleep, play, repeat. The ups are of course seeing and doing loads of stuff you wouldn’t usually get to do. The down would have to be the lack of sleep!

When you're off duty, what kind of music do you like to listen to?

All kinds of pop – from old to new.

Favorite artists at the moment:

I am feeling Axwell /\ Ingrosso & Astrid S at the moment.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Weird sound samples! Picking up sound bytes from daily life and integrating them into music.

What is one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you put it on repeat?

The Black Eyed Peas – Don’t Lie

Describe your style in 5 words.

Black, black, black, black and …black.

What's your favorite brand?

Deadstock Ltd – they are a small brand from Denmark run by a couple, they only make 200 pieces of each style so it’s quite unique. And it’s black.

Where do you get your style inspiration?

It’s mainly just whatever I feel comfortable in.

Who/what is your style icon?

I couldn’t say that I have one.

Any item you're eyeing to purchase next?

I’m into Danish design and furniture, so my next thing will probably be a new couch.

Favorite thing to wear to a festival:

Favorite pair of festival shoes?

Shoes that I can jump around in!

What's in your festial bag?

My camera, my laptop, my in-ears, all my DJ stuff.

5 essentials to bring to a festival

SD cards, in-ears, good energy, my rider and my team!

Fun festival you're looking forward to playing:

We’ve just wrapped up the European festival season, which was awesome and I look forward to the next season in 2018!
