"I love print and color. My casual-chic and beachy boho sense of style comes from my Indian roots. I’m mildly influenced by all the color, embellishments and prints abundant in Eastern culture and style."

How did you get started at blogging?
My name is Jyotsna, but everyone calls me Jyo. Originally from India, I moved to the U.S. six years ago for grad school.

I used to work full time in science until about 2 years ago when I took a leap of faith to follow my long time passion, starting my website CuppaJyo. I now live in the San Fransisco Bay Area with my dear husband, who is also my photographer.

Where do you get your inspiration?
I love print and color, and I believe my casual-chic and beach-boho sense of style comes from my Indian roots. My style is mildly influenced by all the color, embellishments and prints in Eastern culture.

I also gain inspiration from social media and magazines to nature and my surroundings.

Who are some of your favorite fashion bloggers?
I love Rocky Barnes, Sincerely Jules, Song of Style and Gypsy Lovin Light.

Where do get most of your clothes?
Revolve, Lulus, Planet Blue and Foray Collective to name a few. All these places carry so many of my favorite contemporary brands.

What are your must-haves for summer?
A great pair of jeans you can live in, a white tee, my Rayban aviators, a casual pair of sandals and, of course, a cute bikini and coverup ensemble (since I am such a beach bum)!

Favorite color of the moment?
White is my all time fav color. I own one too many white dresses.

What’s a typical day look like for you?
My weekday schedule varies everyday, but it usually consists of one or more of the following — meetings in the bay or city, emails, prepping blog posts and other content and other blogging administrative work. I love working from local coffee shops, so you can usually find me there.

Besides that, I spend the rest of my day running errands, engaging in gym sessions (I’m a huge fitness freak) or meeting with other photographers for a shoot.

My husband is only free on weekends so we’ll try to shoot on one or both days. We’ll try to combine it with an outing, which usually consists of a long drive or checking out a new brunch spot around where we live. Our all-time favorite place is around the bay, where we head out to for shooting looks, as well as chilling in Santa Cruz.

What do you love most about the fashion, food and culture scene here?
I live in the heart of the Silicon Valley, where the hoodie & jeans combo is the uniform of most of the population around here! Haha.

But, I do love the fact that the weather is so awesome throughout the year and casual styles fit very well in the setting of the area. It has definitely brought out the best in me style-wise (since I first moved here 1.5 years ago), as casual-chic and free-spirited looks are my favorite.

I also love the fact that the Bay Area is so cosmopolitan and so diverse in terms of culture and people, so we get to try so many different types of food.

What are your suggestions for top 3 places to visit in or around your city?
1. San Francisco – a great city with tons of things to do! I don’t think SF needs any selling points!

2. Napa Valley and Sonoma.

3. Driving up Highway 1 and visiting any or all of the following spots: Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz or Monterey. If you have the time to drive up to Big Sur, it’s absolutely incredible.

What are some of your favorite destinations to visit this time of year?
I just returned from 2 trips to Mexico. The first one was to Loreto and the second one to Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. Both were equally gorgeous (I want to go back stat).

As I’ve recently started incorporating travel content into my blog, I have a bunch of upcoming trips planned for this year, so stay tuned #jetsetjyo.

Any hidden talents?
I can play the guitar (somewhat) and also love to dance.

I’m a huge fitness buff and have lost over 30 lbs in the past 3 years. I’m in the best shape of my life and am stronger now than I ever have been before — all thanks to my best work-out buddy, my hubs!

Any favorite movies as of late?
Deadpool and Revenant.

What’s your life mantra?
My mantra to feed my wanderlust and go out to explore and travel more is:

Not all those who wander are lost.
