It was a dream come true to finally come to this place. A four hour drive from Rome, I headed to San Giovanni Rotondo, a city and comune in the province of Foggia, Puglia region, southern Italy. It was the home of the famous stigmatist/healer/visionary/priest Saint Pio of Pietrelcina from July 28, 1916, until his death on September 23, 1968. The Padre Pio Pilgrimage Church was built in devotion to the saint and dedicated on July 1, 2004. In that same church houses the incorruptible remains of Saint Pio, for public viewing. It was a powerful moment for me to be there and bear witness to God's power even onto death. This journey I took reaffirmed my faith on many things despite the current problems/situations im dealing with. I know ill get thru all of them by just having faith in God.
The floral ensemble was the defualt choice for this trip. I just love the colors, the vibrant floral hues and I imagined Im bringing these flowers for Saint Pio.
