I talk a lot about travel style because I travel a lot - and often, my trips are the kind where I have to go straight out from the airport to meet people. Travelling in style isn't just about looking put-together while in flight, although it certainly doesn't hurt; it's important because what you wear will dictate the first impression you make once you're on the ground. When I was younger and spent less of my life in airports, my travel style was casual and comfortable - if you take a look at my Airport Style post from 2010, you'll probably notice that my go-to travel outfit hasn't changed that significantly over the years. I never head to the airport without a cardigan, a basic tee and a cosy scarf on. But swapping my worn in jeans for a pair of vegan leather leggings instantly makes my look more dressed up (but doesn't sacrifice comfort - or warmth, since these leggings are fleece-lined!) If I always wore flats, I'd wear them to travel, too, but since I'm a heels girl, I reach for a shoe with lift that is still easy to walk in - and to slip off when going through airport security. The finishing touch to my grown-up travel outfit is always a fabulous hat - this one from Free People is a current favourite. We captured these outfit shots on the way to the airport before leaving for Paris, and now that we're back, I can't wait to start sharing all the snapshots from our trip!
