Now that we’re almost through with March, and April is rapidly approaching, I have officially decided to suck it up in the name of fashion to start pulling out all of the new outfits I’ve purchased and combined with old pieces to create, and show them to you regardless of the temperature. I finally reached my limit, and I will no longer settle for tights, leggings, and jackets only shot indoors – instead I will battle the still-low temps with a brave face in order to bring you all of the ideas and outfits I’ve wanted to for months now! I’ve accumulated some really exciting pieces that I’ve wanted to share through outfit posts and as you can probably imagine, it’s been incredibly frustrating to just stare at them hanging all lonely in my closet just waiting for Mother Nature to thaw the Midwest. Wait no more – here is the first of many exciting spring looks that I hope will really inspire you all to start thinking about the spring and summer trends ahead! With this outfit I channeled my inner Cali-girl to put together a bohemian and casual, yet oddly well put together look that could transition from lunch with your girlfriends on the weekend or hitting the new boutique that opened in a trendy berg near you, to a great concert-going outfit or date-night look that will wow your guy! Equal parts edgy and feminine/flirty, this look has it all, and with all the interchangeable and removable parts, you can really morph your entire ensemble from day to night without having to even stop home. Hold on Spring, here comes Modern Midwest Maven – get ready to ride the waves, Cali waves that is!
