Styling normcore is really an oxymoron because the whole point of normcore is that there really isn’t any styling going on. It is all about functionality and comfort. I have a hard time subscribing to the entire normcore trend as I have always believed in style as a way of expressing ourselves. Now if your way of expressing yourself is “I don’t give a bleep, I just want to be comfortable” then more power to you. But a whole world of that would rather depressing don’t you think. I enjoy fashion and the different ways people show their interpretations of it. Having said that, there are definitely pieces of normcore styling that I like to incorporate into my outfits. I like the idea of pairing graphic tees and sweatshirts with blazers and jeans. It helps to contrast the normcore of it all. Two things that shouldn’t work together (sweatshirt and blazer) somehow do and come off looking quite hip. Add in some killer high heels and you are a walking contradiction.
