Every autumn, I wait on pins and needles to see the new collections in local boutiques - but in the last few years, I've found myself wondering why the collections don't excite me as much as I expect them to. The truth is, I find myself in the same stores season after season, looking at iterations of past collections rather than anything truly new or exciting. I have a budget, just like we all do, and that's part of it - the wonders I fall in love with in runway shows remain out of my reach. But I don't live in Paris anymore, and that's a big part of it, too; the whole world of fashion was open to me there, and shopping options in Canada are much more limited. I'm always thrilled when a new brand comes to Canada, especially a European one, which I'm so excited that Marc Cain has officially opened its first Canadian store! Marc Cain opened at Carrefour Laval on October first. Granted, the store is pretty far from home for me, and the next one, opening in Quebec City later this month, will be too, but considering the way I've taken to, well, everything from their fall collection, it's probably better for my bank account this way. (As long as I can hold myself back from online shopping...!) While I wait for Marc Cain to make its way across the country - there are a number of other openings scheduled in the coming year - I'm pretty sure I'm going to be living in this grey coat. It's rare that I look forward to cold weather, but with this beauty now in my coat collection (and, I admit, a few other new coats, too; I'm addicted) I can't help but enjoy the crisp fall weather!
