I am starting to write this blog post at 8:26 pm. My motto, as many of you probably know, is go big or go home. And apparently, this motto applies to every single aspect of my life, even the unpleasant ones. It's not often that I get sick. But when I do, I apparently like to make it count. I am writing this post - it's now 8:29 pm, but stringing together a coherent sentence is not something that gets easier when you've taken a lot of cold medicine - so late because I actually forgot today was Thursday until just now. In the haze of trying to muster enough voice to record an out of office message on my work answering machine early this morning before stumbling back to bed to sleep for more three hours, I convinced myself it was only Wednesday, so being sick wasn't so bad, aside from all the sneezing and coughing and the whole fever thing, because at least I could be back at work by Friday. When I finally made a laboured trip from my bed to the couch, where I spent most of the day semi-comatose with season one of Gilmore Girls playing, I was still so sure this would all be fine, even if I needed one more day of rest, because I would have a chance to catch up on things before the weekend. But no. Because this is Thursday, a fact that finally dawned on me when my tenth Advil Cold & Sinus kicked in, which meant that tomorrow would be Friday, a day when I normally have a blog post and handle all the emails I haven't gotten to during the rest of the week and get ready for a weekend of taking outfit photos. It looks like none of that is in the cards - and neither is translating this post into French, since God knows I'm finding English challenging enough right now - because by the time you're reading this, it will be Friday, and I suspect I will still be laying on my couch, thinking that I really wish my tea hadn't gotten cold but the microwave seems really, really far away... Sending healthy thoughts to all of you!
