If the Walk of Shame is in fact a walk of Lamé, then we’re all over here like more power to you girl. If you haven’t noticed by now, fashion’s daytime demeanor has stolen from the night’s nocturnal hour. If you’re of the vampire type, then you wouldn’t have noticed the pyjama’s and robes, lingerie and camisole - the whole sleepwear as outerwear ordeal and even now a whole lot of sparkle trolling around in the sunlight, with no shame in their game. Well wake up children, it’s a new day and designers across the globe have given a nod to OOTN’s that become OOTD’s. And even now a certain shocking shimmer has come aboard, light-reflecting textures and shiny #silver finishes.
Feast your eyes on the daytime metallics, from crinkled up silvers at Victoria Beckham, sparkles at Isabel Marant, disco sequins at Lanvin or iridescent crystals at Chanel and get your Edward Cullen on, because it’s okay to bedazzle when the sun hits. The metallic tones and glam persona transport the #rocknroll aesthethic from club to sidewalk. I don’t want to bore you with the do’s and don’t’s cause quite frankly I don’t give a fuck – you do you boo, but what I did here was to go for low-key liquid lustre over high shine, or lil tin man touches here and there like my sleek and strappy sandals, paired with all black and some Blue Steel to bring the voltage down a bit. So here, I chose to offset the shine a bit. But who knows what metallic moments I’m capable of, the future looks bright my friends and I’m itching to bend the rules.
