“I woke up in Santa Monica where the sun is shining through the year” is a lyric from a song which I I can remember from my childhood. And yes, the last few days and the next few days I woke up in sunny Santa Monica, which is sometimes just pinch myself, because it is amazing here.
Santa Monica is “the beach place to be” on the west of Los Angeles and about 45 minutes (walking distance) from the world famous Venice Beach (more on that later). Santa Monica has a subtropical Mediterranean climate with almost 310 sunny days a year (#loveit).
Due to the large amount of sunny days combined with the metropolis city LA right on the corner, Santa Monica is becoming a pleasant holiday destination. The past few days we mainly stayed at our pool, but yesterday we decided to go to the beach. At the end of the afternoon, around five o’clock it gets chilly and becomes colder.
When it became colder on the beach, we decided to walk to the famous Santa Monica Pier. Here you will find several great food spots, shops and of course the famous Pacific Park amusement park. You can spend hours here, but after a taco and a drink we really wanted to shower.
When we entered the apartment we discovered that the sun still had slightly more power than we thought, burned oops! But hey, you’re not always in Santa Monica and tomorrow there is another day of sightseeing on the schedule. So WHATEVER! For now kisses from Santa Monica.
