Layering

Kim Tuttle - - Layering

The cold is still in full force here and I was freezing as I shot this look over the weekend. Layering pieces is still key to keeping warm this time of year. I can’t say that I hate layering because it gives you a chance to really get creative with your look and it also makes you stop and think about what you want to put together and how it will look. In the summer, rompers and dresses are a throw on and done, so winter can be quite the adjustment.

A trend I’ve seen pop up on a few of my fav bloggers is the fishnet trend. I was iffy about trying it because it seems like one of those trends that could go horribly wrong. So, I decided to style my look first, from coat to shoes and then see if the fishnets would enhance it or make it a faux-pas. I felt that layering them under jeans, making them only slightly visible, was the best way to wear these without looking like a Halloween-wannabe. It’s a different thing to try and perfect for a night out look. Not sure, if I’ll be wearing them again anytime soon but had fun trying out this trend.

Also want to point out this cute choker from Ettika! I’ve been wearing it with everything lately. I love how dainty and subtle it is. It’s so versatile that it can be worn by itself or as a layering piece. This is a great idea if you’re looking for a Valentine’s Day gift for her. Shop this piece here.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your weekend! Saturday I plan on going to Valenzano Winery with my boyfriend for their ‘Wine and Chocolate Trail’ event. Can’t wait to have two of my favorite things at the same time xo
