I found the jacket in a church run thrift store for $3 and was very excited about it. I love the unique, asymetrical cut. The glasses seemed very art deco to me and I fell in love with them. For those unfamiliar with the shirt I am wearing, it is from the movie The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. This is a silent film from 1920. It is a visual masterpiece. It epitomized German expressionism in film. This was a dark time in Germany. Under the Weimer Republic many people starved and Germany became known for its sex tourism and debauchery. But from this dark time, incredible art, music, and literature were born. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari continues to have both a cult following as well as being well respected by film critics everywhere.
