The Pink Coat
Well, I’ve found the coat of my dreams. If that’s not the most compelling way to start a blog post, I don’t know what is. I was going to start this post off by talking about the fact that my winter break is officially over and I start my last semester of university tomorrow, but what’s more important? The coat. Definitely the coat.
So there’s a long story behind this coat. So listen up. I was watching Alanna Davidson’s videos a couple weeks ago and she was wearing this coat in grey and I was obsessed with it but in the video she stated that she got it from Club Monaco over a year ago so I didn’t even bother to check if it was still in stock. Then, the next day, I got an email from Club Monaco notifying me that their sale section was an additional 30% off and you know your girl can’t resist a good sale. So I was checking out the site and I saw this coat (called the Daylina Coat) that was the same one that Alanna had been wearing, but in pink! PINK! And I had been dying to get a pale pink coat for as long as I can remember. It was fate. But even better. This coat was regularly $495. But it was marked down all the way to $199 with an additional 30% off. So I paid $140 for the most beautiful coat in the world. To say I’m ecstatic would be a huge understatement.
But with a coat as beautiful as this one comes a few problems. All the snow is melting right now, thus the roads are very dirty. So keeping a light pale pink coat clean has been quite the challenge so far. But I’ve been extremely careful and I’m proud to announce I haven’t got a single speck of dirt on this beauty (except for that little bit of mud that first time I wore it when I brushed against a car but we don’t talk about that).
Underneath the coat, I chose to wear a simple outfit because a calf-length pink coat makes quite the statement on it’s own. I’m wearing a gorgeous mock-neck sweater from Simons that is seriously the softest thing I have ever felt. If I could get this sweater in every colour, I would. I can’t recommend it enough. And of course, I’m wearing it with my black coated jeans from Vero Moda that I wear with every single outfit.
