Worst Mistakes and What I Learn

The Bandwagon Chic - Steve Madden Shoes, Lookbook Dress - Worst Mistakes and What I Learn

"Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes."

Happy start of the month of June everyone!

I hope everyone's having a good positive vibe to start with.

In the Philippines, this week is the official start of the classes, especially in the public schools.

I know that it will be quite busy and traffic jams are everywhere but let's just start the week right.

My topic for today is about my personal side of the note and I know that I mentioned being positive.

Positivity in terms of releasing and sharing with you the worst mistakes I ever did in my life and what I learned from it.

We all make mistakes, have struggles and even regret things in our past.

If you want to grow, you need to move on and make sure that you learn from them.

Without further ado, here's the list of the worst mistakes I ever did in my life:

* Pleasing Everybody

There comes a time when I want everyone to like and love me.

I've been dreading for disapproval and it seems to be the safest way to inoculate myself against conflict and confrontation in a relationship, whether it is family, friends or colleagues.

So I fail to speak up when I want to and even fail to say what's on my mind.

I become a go-to person who always changes their plans at a moment's notice and will always say yes.

It seems very easy at first but to be honest, it is slowly eating me alive.

Not when I realize that I need to be real and I need to stand up for myself and the only cure is to say 'NO'.

Not everyone will like or love the real me but it's okay because the moment that I stop seeking approval from others, that's the time I find out that I never needed it at the first place.

* Taking Myself for Granted

Everyone wants to be appreciated and it's a need that all of us have.

All of us are looking for the place where we belong.

We're trying out to find our fit to places or people or dreams or things that make us feel alive.

Oftentimes, the most unfortunate realities for many people is that the person that appreciates them the least is often themselves.
I realize that nobody will think you're something if you don't think so yourself.

I think that I am beautiful in my own unique way and even embrace my flaws and anxieties.

And who else who will love myself like I do, there is no other 'me' in this world besides myself.

* Comparing Myself

When I am checking my Facebook or Instagram feed before, I usually try to compare myself with the number of likes, comments, and followers.

Remember their post about the travel and food they shared sometimes makes us feel smug.

I almost always regret it when I let my guard down and start scrolling on other person's feed.

I'll inevitably see something that makes me feel bad about myself or my life, or something else that makes me envious, that I am missing something from my life that others have.

Not until I realize I am making myself horrible with those things that I should not mind at all the first place.

Firstly, I understand that people have their own timeline and just wait for your turn to have it all.

I remind myself that people's outside can't be compared to your insides.

In the modern world of social media, people usually curate their lives but to be honest their life is far different from the reality.

And let's not judge people too because you may see her/him in a great disposition but who knows what's really happening in her/his real life.

And lastly, I repeat this to myself many times that 'Money doesn't buy happiness' because money and things provide a temporary boost of joy; their inevitable inability to provide lasting sustenance is usually more disappointing than anything else.

Can you share what you learn from it?
