"LE PARISIENNE"
Bonjour encore Paris, it’s been a whole minute. Before we rekindle this love affair, kindly note that we are here purely for administrational purposes, hot pursuit if you will, our mission: bagging mes soeurs official Chanel. That’s right, it’s the big 30 and it’s time to make it official. So a girl’s trip a la myself, my mom and my sister is what was written in the cards. First day, fresh off the plane, early check-in, post nap, first thing on the agenda was a visit to the flagship 31 Rue Cambon boutique. Selection was presented and left for her perusal. Considering our status upgrade from Paris tourist to Parisian local, we opted for a casual stroll through Jardin Tuileres for mother dearest’s pleasure and a prime early dinner seating at Café Marly under the arcades of the Richelieu wing overlooking the Louvre Pyramid.
The look of the day was a pleated floaty frock in a clean and classic optical white. For some reason, I tend to abandon my severely monochromatic palette, when I travel, for an unknown and most likely superfluous reason, but Paris always brings me back down to earth. Somewhat oversized and geometric, lightweight and minimal, was the main appeal of this number, ideal for comfortable wandering without sacrificing allure. In fact, the statement was punctuated by the chunky espadrilles to draw out the obvious femininity of such a sundress and allowed for that neutral edge that I love so much.
