Katie Van Daalen Wetters - - Palm Springs

Here comes the Coachella content you’ve all been waiting for… just kidding. What a crazy weekend. First off, Coachella is not as glamorous as you all might think. Unless you’ve got a full paid all-inclusive trip, this rodeo ain’t for everyone.

Let me tell you… your immune system will be tested and mine failed me. I was left with the aftermath of being sick for a week. No bueno.

But… the pros out way the cons. I headed out Thursday evening with my boyfriend (his first time) and stayed at the Diamond Resort Villas in Palm Springs, CA. The location was perfect walking distance to downtown Palm Springs and a 40 minute drive to Indio were the festival was located.

Day 1:

The first day was extremely overwhelming due to the vast amount of people. We headed to the festival around 4pm. You nearly have to dodge every oncoming person almost as if you’re driving down the wrong side of the road. If crowds are not your thing, stay away. Artist we saw that day included Gorgon City and Diplo. To be honest, the lineup this year wasn’t that great…

I wore a fiery red off the shoulder crop top (Urban Outfitters) with a black denim skirt (Tobi), snake skin boots (Tony Bianco) and my Gucci bag. Outfit for the most part was breathable and comfortable. The kind of shoes you wear is the most important decision of your outfit. By the end of the night, my feet were killing me…

Day 2:

The best day in my opinion, because I loved my outfit and I got to see one of my favorite current artist “Billie Eilish” perform. I wore a tube top (Boohoo) paired with cargo pants (Lover + Friends), Air Jordan sneakers and my recently purchased Prada fanny pack. A nice addition to my bag collection.

Other highlights included the lemonade ($9) but totally worth it and the pizza!

Day 3:

The last day is always questionable. After having to check out of our hotel room at 10am… I ended up doing my car in the parking lot before heading out to the last day of the festival. My back was killing me from standing for 3 days straight, but managed to dance through the pain.

For my outfit, I wore a tie top (Tobi) with Levi denim and my Air-Force One’s.

A few things to keep in mind:

One. Water. Water. Water. Do not wait in line to fill up your empty water bottle. Either bring a water backpack or cough up the $2 for the water. (Totally worth it).

Two. The amount of dust you will consume the entire 3 day trip is insane. There’s also no way to avoid it so there’s that…

Three. Eat before you go to the festival because the lines are pretty insane and there’s nothing worse than having sun poisoning, being dehydrated and no energy.

Dress to be stylish, but also comfortable. Unless you’re getting the full VIP experience, there’s no point in doing the most. Seriously… not worth it.

Lastly, remember why you’re there… to listen to music, have fun, meet people and live in the MOMENT. I really tried to do that instead of post every second on social media.
