I have mixed feelings for Twilight. I like the series because it offers a way to escape reality just for a few hours and drift off into some fantastic world where you meet vampires and fall in love with them. What I dislike about the series is namely all the crazy fans (believing that Edward's their true love) and the fact that it's becoming increasingly overrated.

I will never read Twilight and will probably only watch the movie with other people who want to make fun of it.

I felt that the movie was bad too - it wasn't really like the books.

I felt that the last book was rather like Disney movie endings - in the end, the heroine got everything she wanted - her husband, her child, and immortality.

i didnt even finish the first book because it was so boring and annoying and all the characters are seriously stupid, like bella being like "omg im so ugly how could someone like perfect heavenly edward ever like me" and edward is always like "i'm too nobel to be with her" plus i thought the writing was very poor. but what really bothers me are the obsessive fan hype that started about a year after i read it because i'd already forgotten about the book and then all you hear is twilight and OMG EDWARD CULLEN IS GOING TO MARRY ME which is so stupid its almost funny haha. havent seen the film tho

I just recently started watching True Blood. It's pretty good.

When I first read Twilight (about 6 months before the movie came out), I really liked it and couldn't stop reading it. Then the movie came out and everything was ruined. All these kids started running to Hot Topic getting Edward Cullen (who totally sounds like a creeper in the movie and makes Robert Pattinson look like he needs to tan so much that he should
skip sun screen and get skin cancer and saying they need
an Edward in their life.

Personally, I think a lot of vampire stories have to do with lust more than love.

Oh and, Stephenie Meyer has a horrible editor, her books have so many typos and grammatical errors.

i really liked the books of twilight. but i think the movie is shitty.
and i dont like all the little kids who think theyre in love with edward. this is really ridicolous if you ask me, cuz edward doesnt life. and we all know that robert pattison (or however hes named) in his real life is not like edward is described in this book. HE IS JUST PLAYING A ROLE CAUSE HE JUST WANTS MONEY. so thats my opinion.

oh and i dont like the fact that every author thinks she/he has to write an vampire roman now cuz twilight is so popular. cause most of them just cant write as good as stephenie meyer.

Same. I read the first one and thought it was a good read. Then the second came and it was dull as hell. The film was good on first viewing but I couldn't watch it again.

As for other vampire novels and films, Let The Right One In is incredible. See it before Hollywood murders it in 2010. :/

The series amused me more when I could blurt out Edward Cullen, and I'd get a what the hell face rather then a shut up, you Twilight lover one.

Nonetheless, I love love the series. Why? I honestly can't explain properly. Even with the huge fan base, I still am obsessed. But I'm not going to be screaming for Edward Cullen to marry me any day soon. Plus, when I really look at the fandom and my craze for it- I know the books are poorly written. However, compared to other vampire books, like Interview With the Vampire, Twilight just grabs me more. Possibly a teenage thing. On other hand, in general, I'm not big on vampires.
