corruption in almost every government department in my country sucks the best out of everything, so we're not really developing. my country has the best natural resources and human resources but my country's not getting the benefit, but foreign companies.

I'm from Vancouver Canada, and I honestly think it's one of the nicest places to live.

Plus side: Pretty cool arts scene, "hipster" community (small city so they pretty much know all of each other), beautiful pacific ocean, pretty parks/wildlife, fresh air, snow on the mountains... etc. You could literally swim, snowboard and hike in the same day.

Downside: not much of a "nightlife", everything is EXPENSIVE (especially housing), and some people wear clothing from the SAME stores so sometimes you will see people wearing the SAME things (aka Lululemon pants, Aritzia jackets, TNA sweaters, Uggs, American Apparel crop tops, Urban Outfitters...). Not a lot of people are really original here. Or care about true vintage/thrifted clothing. They just wear mainstream brand names to fit in with what everyone else downtown is wearing. Also I find the people here are very shy when it comes to expressing their opinions/sexuality because they are afraid of what others may think... maybe this is just a Vancouver thing? I could be wrong though.

Australia is a pretty nice place to live I mean it's clean, we hav good weather and good produce, beaches are good, there are lots of pretty places, the people are friendly, bars/restaurants are nice and the trains are clean but everything is soooo expensive, especially housing in Melbourne! I also hate the fact that Australia is Sooooo far away from the rest of the world.

The Netherlands:

Lots of people are narrow minded and superficial. Mostly in the smaller towns/villages.

The government, the weather, the people complaining about the weather, and the people complaining about the government but doing nothing about it.

~The government (its a bit passive + I dont see any improvements)
~The People (Not all, there are great ones, but the majority, not so much)
~The economy, the market

I really cant point out all the flaws, Im still praying for the day Im gonna go and work abroad.

P.S. : The people + the religion (not all) ARE BIGOTS. ugh. i remember the protests against BTW ball. :| They're close minded + equality and acceptance is not widely spread yet. (and they say globalization would make our tradition extinct, yeah right go preserve your motherfucking 'traditions' old scumbags)

I was never a patriot.

My thoughts exactly

esp the transport systems and imperialism part. (tbh, our current president only won because her mother died + some Filipinos are too ignorant :| )

remember the hacienda luisita stuff? and the massacres and shit? :| They'd kill just to get into position *facepalms*

They're not even doing anything to combat poverty, that's why I hate it when they launch commercials introducing their platforms and shit.

and the society is blatantly flawed.

Spain.

Pros: beaches, siesta, good food! Amazing weather. Partying goes from 11pm to 7am. University is relatively cheap (around 1k a year).

Cons:

Most of the population lives in apartments. Houses are for people in the countryside.

Every politician is CORRUPT. It's pathetic to see how political party members steal 'public' money and spend it on expensive suits, travelling, fancy cars, going out to eat, etc. Embarrasing. Even the monarchy has been on the news for that!! (as if they weren't rich enough)

I wish people were less ignorant. There is even a sterotype of the Spanish "maruja": just a gossipy housewife who does nothing but watch reality shows on tv and cook all day. Spain is full of them!

We have the worst school scores in Europe, and we only speak our native language, unlike some of our neighbours.. *sigh*

The job market right now is a disaster. We have over-qualified graduates leaving, going to foreign countries like England/Germany/USA! Here they ask for qualifications, languages, work experience, and to work many hours but give you an enslaving salary.
