Okay so I'm sure most of the people who've seen my page would probably think, yes this guy likes anime a lot! :D

Unfortunately I cant still count myself as an Otaku, because one, I'm probably more obsessed on clothes rather than anime (but I did watch quite an amount of anime movie and series, and read some mangas online) And two.. I don't speak Japanese!

Anyway, back to the topic! Any nice Anime movies you've seen? Please just drop a line here! :)

(btw, I've watched and rewatched ALL Studio Ghibli films already so please no more of that... lol)

UPDATE 30.04.2014: Please also include Anime Series that you think everyone should watch! ^_^

haha awesome i really like the ghibli studios but have not seen all of their films yet

well anyway i don´t think my recommendation will hit your taste but RED LINE is totally my favorite if it comes to anime films

here´s a link

http://www.animecrazy.net/redline-movie/

it´s the cenosred version of the film but it really doesn´t matter i have seen both versions and the differences are of minor nature

i hope it will entertain you a bit even if don´t like it

WOW! Thanks!!! great Suggestions! Will have fun this weekend then! :D

I'm a BIG Final Fantasy fan so yep watched that like a thousand times! :D

These are my favorite anime series of 2000's:

Hellsing
Fairy Tail
Bakuman
Honey and Clover
Blood+
Paradise Kiss
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
Death Note

The rest are classics from the 90's (which I'm sure you've probably watched like Dragonball, Yuyu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter etc.)

Well since I asked for this might as well suggest a list.

Of course Studio Ghibli is on top of my list so I suggest you guys WATCH IT ALL! :D

Here are my top Studio Ghibli Films:

My Neighbor Totoro
The Cat Returns
Howls Moving Castle
Castle in The Sky
Kiki's Delivery Service
Whisper of the Heart
Spirited Away
Tales from Earthsea
Ponyo
Arrietty

Other Films that I like are:

Grave of the Fireflies (If you want to cry bucket of tears watch this! Its also a SG film but a collab with some other animators.)
5 Centimeters Per Second
Eden of the East
Children Who Chase Lost Voices (Very Studio Ghibli like but with its own amazing charm MUST SEE)
Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror

I could go beyond this list hahaha! but these are the best of the 2000's for me so far, so enjoy! :)

Paprika! It's basically what Christopher Nolan ripped off from when he made Inception

I second Helen's suggestion! In fact, any animated film by Satoshi Kon (my favourite is Tokyo Godfathers).

Also, no One Piece? :P

I just finished watching Log Horizon and its one of the best MMORPG themed amine IMO. Very well written, it reminds me a lot about Suikoden 2's story in terms of building a nation and politics. Juts look it up, its amazing.

There would be a season 2 this coming fall, I cant wait! :D

If you are a Ghibli fan then I definitely recommend getting The Wind Rises when it comes out. By far one of Miyazaki's best films!

I love The Garden of Words. It's a rather heartwarming, yet bittersweet story of a young boy and a lady who is a teacher. The entire film, aesthetically speaking, is very beautiful and breathtaking. I would recommend watching just for the art and the beautiful scenery that this film offers.

I'm surprised no one has said princess mononoke (mononoke hime) but that is a ghibli film so you have probably seen that. Attack on Titan (shingeki no kyojin) is a great series that is pretty new. At first I didn't know if I would like it because the drawing style is pretty different but I actually really liked it and the animation makes it unique. From the New World (shin sekai yori) is okay too, I still need to finish that series though. As for movies, I recently watched Blood C: The last dark, it was alright but you kind of need to watch the series Blood C to know what is going on. There are a bunch more but I don't feel like thinking about it right now haha there are sooo many!

Record of Lodoss War (Fantasy, LOTR like)

I also like Lady Oscar (Versailles no bara), but I think it is more for girls. It is set in the times of the french revolution. A young girl becomes the first female officer and close friend of Queen Marie Antoinette. Her story is touching.

Right now I'm in the middle of reading two series; one named "Monster" by Naoki Urasawa and another called "NANA" by Ai Yazawa.

"Monster" has such an addictive plot, it's like watching a action drama series! It has an anime, but I haven't seen it yet, although if it's anything like the manga then it's AMAZING.

"NANA" is a bit more of a girly human drama but it's still great. Best of all, Ai Yazawa has a fashion background, so the clothes on the show are great! (Especially if you're a punk fashion or Vivianne Westwood fan

Anime is for everyone! I love Attack on Titan (sort of gore-y)

And comedy/romance: one of my all-time favorite animes is Itazura na kiss:) The story goes far beyond them falling in love as teens, it even shows how they go to college, their marriage, children... It's very sweet. I havent seen any other anime that is romantic, not too cheesy, and as good as that one.

These are series and not movies, but so worth watching!
