i have a brother cs6000i right now, but it's always getting stuck when there are too many layers! i'm looking for one that is sturdy and able to sew through many layers/thick fabrics (one of our projects for school next year is a winter jacket ><)

any recommendations?

thanks!!

I have the Brother CS5055PRW, it's the Project Runway edition one. It does it's job, but I've never needed it to sew through thick fabrics, so I'm not sure if it's possible to do that.

I'm sorry!

If you want to sew threw thick fabrics, you should consider an industrial sewing machine.

I use a Janome DC3050. I love that machine so much. The only time I've ever had problems with it is when trying to sew the buttonholes on a denim jacket.

At school we use Industrial machines - Juki DDL 8700. They're expensive, but I think they would be worth it.

I use a Janome 7025 which has served me well for almost 4 years now.
My mum has one of those really old ones which is hidden in a wooden table!

At uni they use Bernina ones which are supposed to be really good but I like what I am used to.
